Joining a Live Quiz

Participate in real-time quizzes with your classmates and compete for the top spot!

How to Join

Step 1: Get the Code

Your teacher will display a 6-digit code when starting the quiz.

Step 2: Enter the Join Page

1. Navigate to Live Quiz from the sidebar
2. Or go directly to /c/{community}/live-quiz/join

Step 3: Enter Your Details

1. Game Code: Enter the 6-digit code from your teacher
2. Nickname: Choose a name to display on the leaderboard
3. Click Join Game

Step 4: Wait for Start

• You'll see a waiting screen with the quiz title
• Wait for your teacher to start the quiz
• The game begins when all players are ready

Playing the Quiz

Answering Questions

When a question appears:

1. Read the question carefully
2. Look at the available options (color-coded buttons)
3. Tap/click your answer quickly!
4. Speed matters - faster correct answers earn more points

After Answering

Once you submit:

• ✅ Correct: Green checkmark with points earned
• ❌ Wrong: Red X mark, try better next time!
• Wait for the teacher to show results

Results Screen

After each question:

• See the correct answer
• Check if you got it right
• See the fastest correct answers
• View your current score

How Points Work

Speed Bonus Tips

The faster you answer correctly, the more bonus points you earn:

• Answer in 1 second → ~450 bonus points
• Answer in 5 seconds → ~250 bonus points
• Answer in 10 seconds → 0 bonus points

Winning

During the Quiz

• Your current score and rank update after each question
• Watch the leaderboard to see your position

Final Results

• Top 3 get the podium display 🏆
• See your final rank and total score
• Correct answer count shown
• Celebrate with confetti if you place top 3!

Read Quickly

• Questions appear for all players at once
• Start reading immediately when the question shows

• Review your course content before quiz time
• Speed won't help if you don't know the answer

Troubleshooting

"Session not found"

• Double-check the 6-digit code
• Make sure your teacher has started the session
• Ask your teacher to confirm the code

Question Not Appearing

• Wait a few seconds (polling updates every 1.5s)
• Check your internet connection
• Refresh the page if stuck

Can't Submit Answer

• You may have already answered this question
• Check if results are being shown
• Only one answer per question is allowed

Disconnected During Quiz

• Return to the same join URL
• Enter the code again
• You'll rejoin with your previous score
